bits of news

Emily interviewed me on her lovely blog, Songbird.

Yesterday, I compiled a list of blogs and publications that have featured Paragraph Cove.  Visit the "about" section to view the list.

My following has really grown in the past six months.  I just wanted to say thank you for reading my little old blog.  I really really appreciate it!

I'm still offering a 2" notebook and four 1" book ornaments with every purchase.
Offer expires at midnight PST.

buy handmade

With the help of artists and designers, Poppytalk compiled a list of 101 Reasons to Buy Handmade.
It's definitely worth checking out!

#17:
"Giving handmade is truly the essence of gift-giving. When you give a friend or loved one a gift, you are really saying "I care about you." A handmade gift conveys so much more than something pulled off the end-cap display of a mega store. Of course there are the obvious economic benefits of supporting independent makers and artists, but buying and giving handmade is, at heart, a loving act."

Encourage your loved ones to purchase handcrafted gifts...especially if the gifts are for you. ;)

PS: Congratulations to Eva & Kirk Jorgensen of Sycamore Street Press on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Ingrid May!

holiday bazaar report

I had an awesome time at SCRAP's Holiday Bazaar!  The vendors and volunteers were very friendly.  The live music created a laid back atmosphere.  I was surprised at the broad range of upcycled/recycled goods.  I look forward to participating in more events at SCRAP.

Visit SCRAP on facebook to view more pictures.

gift wrap

When I was a teenager one of my responsibilities was wrapping all of the christmas gifts.  My Mom would box up each gift and label it with the recipients name.  I would sit on the floor in the living room and spend hours wrapping.  Needless to say my gift wrapping skills are top notch.

Here are some lovely gift wrap ideas featured in Gifted and Sweet Paul.

Peruse Gifted Magazine for awesome gift guides and decor ideas.

Flip through Sweet Paul Magazine for delicious recipes and crafty projects.

Happy wrapping!

new: holiday stationery

I'm happy to introduce my new holiday stationery!

Send seasons greetings to loved ones with these modern upcycled designs.

All of the envelopes are handcrafted from discarded books.
The folding notes are cut from 80lb white card stock.
Round address labels are included.

Sparkling stars become falling snow!

Sixties flower arrangements become sleek ornaments!

These designs are available in my etsy shop.

crafting community update

In September, I mentioned my collaboration with Kimmel Kids.  I was invited to donate upcycled paper to Crafting Community a weekend retreat in Palm Springs.  Kids and parents used the paper to create envelopes in the Pen Pal worksop.

I was also asked to contribute my 4" notebooks for the swag bags.
(my lil notebook is highlighted in yellow)

Crafting Community was featured on the ReadyMade blog.  Check it out.

A big thank you to Karen and Sheryl for inviting me to be apart of this awesome event.  It was a pleasure working with you.

My new mini business cards from moo arrived yesterday.  Those folks never disappoint!  I splurged on a bright orange card holder for my key chain.  I am ready to network!
