desert sabbatical: charleston antique mall

Charleston Antique Mall is 16,000 square feet of pure heaven.  I spent about three hours wandering through the booths.  I love the hunt.  I laughed out loud several times due to the strange mix of run-of-the-mill antiques and bizarre/gaudy items.  It was great fun!

Tip: Check out the directions to the entrance of the shop.  It's a bit tricky.

sycamore street press contributor post: five fave antique shops

I have the pleasure of contributing to one of my favorite blogs, Sycamore Street Press.  In my first post I shared five antique shops on the coast that I adore.  I enjoyed visiting each one and snapping shots of my fave items.  Check it out.

Stay tuned for more...

my fave haunts: wheeler station antiques

I'm starting a new series to share some of my favorite shops and restaurants on the Oregon coast.  The first place I'd like to tell you about is my favorite antique store in the whole world, Wheeler Station Antiques.  You can find just about anything in this huge antique mall.  If you enjoy hunting for treasures this store is for you.

inspiration

I was singing along to Bob Dylan while driving past the bay this afternoon. The sun was shining and the sea lions were laying on the shore soaking up the rays. I stopped off at one of my favorite antique/junk stores and bought a poetry book published in 1967. The illustrations are vibrant and very 60's. The pages will make great envelopes.
