vegas bound

Hi friends!

I'm headed to Vegas tomorrow for the West Coast Conference college basketball tournament with my Mom and sister.  Really looking forward to seeing my cousin and watching hoops for a week!

My etsy shop will remain open while I'm away.  Any items purchased from today until March 6th will be shipped March 7th.

Have a lovely week!

Go Zags!

autumn in oregon

I'm staying at my sister, Bethany's, place this week.  A storm hit Oregon last night.  Heavy rain and high winds are expected to continue throughout the week.  During a break in the torrential down pour, Bethany and I went for a walk to check out the flooding.

I had a little impromptu photo shoot with my friend Jeremiah's cat last week.  His name is Hank.  He was very corporative and friendly.  I look forward to working with him in the future.  ;)

If you'd like to book a pet photo shoot, drop me a line.  Seriously, I'd love to take photos of your furry pals.

afternoon in astoria

My Mom and I spent the day in Astoria a few weeks ago.
We had lunch at Cecil's Trolley Stop on Pier 11.
We discovered Vintage Hardware in the old John Jacob Astor Hotel.
We also hit up Cargo and Lunar Boy Gallery.
I love these collages by Diane Jackson.

mother's day

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
I love you lots and lots!

desert sabbatical: red rock canyon

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas.  My sister and I checked out the Visitors Center and drove the 13 mile scenic drive on Thursday.  It was absolutely gorgeous!  I shot something like 90 pictures.  I'll post more tomorrow.
I dropped Bethany off at the airport this afternoon.  She's headed back to Portland.  We had so much fun this week.  I miss her already.

My cousin, Jennifer, presented me with an irresistible opportunity to stay at her house in Vegas while she traveled through Europe.  I was happy to leave behind dreary gray skies of the Oregon coast.  I've spent the past week swimming, shopping, sightseeing and relaxing.  My sister, Bethany, flew down for a few days to celebrate her birthday.  We've had a blast!

My new flats I bought at Ross.
The aquarium at the Silverton casino and lodge.

The Bass Pro Shops in the Silverton casino was enormous and full of taxidermy animals of all kinds.

Bethany added a new elongated penny to her collection.

I dig this raccoon bench!

Definitely the coolest sporting goods store I've ever been to.

Happy Birthday, Bethany!

PS: Stay tuned for pictures from our visit to Red Rock Canyon.

hairy woodpecker

I was visited by a Hairy Woodpecker yesterday.  I'm pretty sure it was a male.  You can just see a twinge of red on the back of its head.  He spun around and around while snacking on suet.

My aunt has an amazing blog devoted to birds and nature trails of the Central Oregon Coast.  Her latest post contains incredible photos of an osprey fishing.  Check it out.
